The Ivory Tower is a group of people who value the art of thought above all other things. People who understand that the world is a much more complex place then the average man thinks it is. People who see that this art is becoming a lost one. We are philosophers. We see philosophy becoming nothing more than a recycled system, ideas are re-written and passed down, but nothing new is created. There are is no Socrates, Plato, Kant, or Nietzsche anymore. There are only scribes left. Only the students of the great masters, tirelessly re-telling old thoughts and arguments. The great works of philosophers old are, to be sure, important to philosophy but as any art or science, progress must be made or it becomes lost. The common man cares little for philosophy, and this is a problem we must address, least we lose the most basic science man knows. Thus, this is The Ivory Tower’s true goal. To get the common people to think, to argue, and to understand. To listen to other points of view, to see the world as so much more than black and white, right and wrong.
